The RDAI group working in Little Oak Equestrian Center in Prosperous is in need of new volunteers. We ride on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. We work with adults from KARE in Prosperous and Clane. It is a small group and has been going for a number of years. If anyone is interested and would like more information please contact Shirley MacDermott on 086-8187744 RDAI is a registered charity providing the opportunity for therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with a range of disabilities to enjoy safe, healthy, stimulating horse-riding activities. Volunteering involves being part of a friendly team and it is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, keep fit and get a fantastic feeling of satisfaction that you are making a difference. No previous experience is required, you will need to be confident around horses and work well as part of a team. Training is ongoing within RDAI, volunteers are supported by their Group Coaches. RDAI Groups take place on a weekly basis during school term time.
Typical activities for volunteers in the weekly riding sessions may include: Setting up the school / Grooming and tacking up the horses / Assisting riders with mounting / dismounting and instruction / Side walking with riders during the sessions / Leading ponies
