Saturday 21st May is a very special day here in our church. We welcome our young children from Scoil an Linbh Iosa who will receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion. We welcome their teachers and their families to this very special occasion. We have two ceremonies 10am and 12 noon. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped make our St. Patrick's Day Mass in Irish so special. It was fantastic to be allowed gather together again to celebrate this very special feast day in our church. Huge thanks to Fr. Barney McGuckian from Clongoweswood College for celebrating our Mass in our native language and to Tom Crehan for volunteering to lead us in the readings. Having lived with Covid-19 restrictions for two years It was fantastic to have our young Irish dancers perform for us and enriching our ceremony. Thanks to the Angela Brien School of Dancing (086-6064164) for this wonderful display. Thanks also to Billy Carey and the folk group for the beautiful Irish Hymns.
We have two Masses here in our church tomorrow to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Fr. Bernard will say Mass in English at 10am and we are delighted to have Fr. Barney McGuckian back with us again to celebrate Mass in Irish at 11.30am.
What a special day today was here in our church. Thanks to Bishop Denis for 3 beautiful ceremonies - it was really great to have Bishop Denis back here again to Confirm our young people. Thanks to everyone who helped make today run smoothly. May the Holy Spirit bless all our newly confirmed young people.
We look forward to welcoming Bishop Denis to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation here in our parish on Wednesday 16th March. We will have 3 ceremonies 9.30am / 11am / 12.30pm so please note that our normal Communion Prayer Service will not take place this week. We continue to pray for our young people who along with their teachers, parents and guardians will join Bishop Denis for what should be a joyous occasion and an important milestone in their lives. May the Holy Spirit guide and protect them forever.
We welcome our young children preparing for First Holy Communion along with their families to our Family Mass this Sunday, March 6th at 11.30am. We continue to keep our young people preparing for the sacraments in our prayers at all times.
Thanks to all the parents and teachers for helping prepare the children for their Confirmation in March. It was lovely to gather with them on Tuesday evening and celebrate the Ceremony of light here in our church. Just a reminder that I will be available to hear Confessions here in our church Mon, Tues & Wednesday evenings (14th to 16th February ) from 6pm to 7pm. This Tuesday 8th February we will gather together to celebrate the Ceremony of Light with our young people preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. We will have two ceremonies - 6pm and 7pm. We are delighted to welcome these children and their families to our church and we continue to pray that Covid 19 will not disrupt our plans this year.
The past two years have been very difficult for many of our parishioners and we are aware that some people have not yet returned to Mass and continue to join us via Webcam from the safety of their own home. If anyone knows people who would like Fr. Bernard to call and see them and bring Communion to them please contact the Parish Office on 045-841806 or give Fr. Bernard a call on 085-2325095
The church envelopes for 2022 were delivered over Christmas. We are aware that we have new people living in our parish or some parishioners who have not yet registered for envelopes – if anyone would like to contribute to our church please contact the parish office for a box of envelopes.

There is still time to enter the Colouring Competition which we have left in the church porch. Prizes can be won for the best entries. Advent Week 3 work sheet for children is also available in our church porch. This week we continue our Gospel reflection for children in our bulletin. We ask parents to encourage children to get involved in these activities.
